Parking and Entrance
You may park in the lot south of the building or along the street. The front entrance is the easiest way to enter the sanctuary. If you park in the lot, you may want to enter the building through the doors on the same side of the building. If so, you may walk up the stairs to the second level or take the elevator that is just beyond the stairs to your left. Once on the second level from the stairs, walk straight ahead down the hall until you reach the sanctuary on the right. From the elevator, turn right and then left and walk down the hall until you reach the sanctuary on the right.
Greetings and Assistance
You will be greeted as you enter the building. The greeters will be happy to answer any questions you may have. We invite you to sign our guest register in the narthex just left of the doors leading into the sanctuary.
As you go into the sanctuary, an usher will give you a bulletin to assist you in participating in the worship service. Large-print bulletins are also available. You are encouraged to sit wherever you like. For those with hearing difficulty, headsets are available through the ushers.
Please feel free to contact the church office or one of our pastors if you have questions or concerns. There are red friendship pads in the pews that we invite you to sign stating your address, phone number, and email in order that we may contact you.
Attire
Appropriate dress is whatever you are comfortable wearing. Typical attire ranges from neat casual to suits.
College Students in Worship
We invite all students to worship with us while away from your home church. You are welcome to join in the life of this congregation in any way that fits your interests and schedule. At the end of worship you may wish to stop by the Student Welcome Table in the narthex. Someone will greet you and tell you about upcoming events that may appeal to you as a student or young adult.
Children in Worship
As noted above, all–including children–are welcome at BPC. We have a wonderful nursery for newborns through 2 years old. Extended Session, a time of nurture and fellowship, for 3-4 year olds and Children’s Worship for K-2nd graders is offered downstairs in the Education Wing after the Children’s Message in the worship service. Children’s bulletins (through the ushers) and Children’s worship bags (found just as you enter the narthex) are available for use by any child during the service. You are asked to return the worship bags as you leave the service.
Fellowship Hall is available during worship for parents who need a place to be with unhappy children. The Head Usher will assist you in finding Fellowship Hall. The worship service can be heard from the speaker there. Our goal is to make everyone of every age feel welcomed and valued.
Transportation
If you wish to visit and transportation is a problem, please contact the church office by Friday afternoon. We will arrange for someone to pick you up and return you to the place where you are staying in the Blacksburg area.
