Katrina Relief
After such a disaster, our hearts can’t help but be moved to try to help those who have been devastated. Our congregation raised funds to help with disaster relief, but this wasn’t enough. We wanted to help with our hands as well. Since the disaster, we have sent two work groups to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi to help rebuild the area. In partnership with First Presbyterian Church there, each group worked for a week to gut houses, getting them ready to be rebuilt. And one of the groups was able to help the rebuilding process by putting up sheet rock and mudding. Hard work led to changed lives for those who went and for those whose houses we were in. God is working even in the midst of total devastation. We will continue to send groups and funds to help in the rebuilding efforts. For more information, contact Brenda Roberts.
