University Ministry
With Virginia Tech less than a mile from our doors, we minister to the entire university community, offering a place to worship and serve, a place to deepen faith and to explore its meaning for our lives in today's world.
Students, we celebrate higher Education Sunday in the worship service the first Sunday after classes starting the fall and invite you to lunch after the service. We also invite you to:
- Participate in college Sunday School class at 10:00 in Westminster Hall.
- Be guests of members of the congregation at several treat-students-to-lunch Sundays during each semester.
- Join the adult choir and or the handbell choir.
- Help with one the the children's or youth's programs.
- Participate with members of the congregation in Service Sundays, which take place once a month.
- Be our guests at a Progressive Dinner in early December.
- Become a member or an affiliate member (whereby you have a tie to this congregation while maintaining membership in your home church).
- Visit the Student Welcome Table after worship any Sunday to see members or other students and to pock up the church newsletter and a schedule of events for students. There are cookies for you the first few Sundays of the semester and exam care packages at the end of the semester.
