Bible Workbench
Are you interested in digging deeper into scripture to think about it in its historical context and how it applies to your life today? Come and dig in together in a series called “Bible Workbench�. We will draw three questions out of the text together: 1.What is happening in the story/text? 2. How is the story happening in the world around us? 3. How is this story your/our story? The goal of our exploration is not a right answer or agreement. The goal is to help us look at scripture in a real way and ponder how it might be working itself out in our lives. In preparation for the class each week, participants will read the scripture lesson, some background material by leading theologians, and parallel readings from other sources that will help shine light on the passage and the themes within the passage. Cost for this class is $10. Susan Verbrugge will lead the discussions. We will meet together weekly at 7:30 a.m. for one hour (yes, that does say a.m.) in Hatcher Conference Room. Start your day off in scripture. Come before you go to work or come while your spouse can stay home with the kids. Coffee will be provided! Your morning bedroom slippers are optional.
