In this Easter season, we seek to live as Easter people: So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense...And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It is your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.

News and Events

Now that we have had our joyous and festive Celebration of 175 Years of Ministry as Blacksburg Presbyterian Church (March 29-30, 2008), we jump with great anticipation and commitment into the future that God has in store for us. We know we are called to adapt, to grow, to change, to become the people God calls us to be. We know we are committed to serving as Jesus served and loving as Jesus loved. The world needs our energy and dedication as we work for the full reign of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Our recently completed renovations and updates on our fine building are also behind us. We seek to resume the full use of our facility for God's good work. Sunday School Classes continue for all ages. Fellowship moments for nuture and encouragement are plentiful. Opportunities to serve with our talents and commitments to the community and the world are here too. God keeps calling us to dedicate our money, our talents, our resources in good and faithful service. Our Sunday Morning Worship is where we come each week to encounter God and find inspiration for God's work. May God's Spirit continue to shape us for faithfulness.

April in Blacksburg

April in Blacksburg brings springtime. This April brings the first anniversary of the tragedy in our community. On April 16, and surrounding days, we will have special moments to remember the 33 lives who were killed, the many who were wounded, and the challenges in our community that continue. This difficult anniversary affects us all differently. Finally, we seek to comfort one another where we are hurting, help one another where we can, encourage each other spiritually and emotionally, and remind one another of God's abiding promises, presence, and care. We depend on those words from Romans: "nothing in life or death can separate us from God's love in Christ Jesus our Lord."

An Invitation-

We are a community of hope and hospitality. All are welcome among us.
